Play Areas

Crewkerne Town Council continues to give children’s play areas a high priority and to ensure that there are regular, independent safety surveys of all play equipment and surfaces in order to maintain a high standard of service provision. The Council owns and manages several play areas (Henhayes, Happy Valley and Southmead):

Green railings around children's play area with swings and roundabout

This is a small play area on the edge of a housing estate to the south of the town and within easy reach of Happy Valley. In October 2012 new, brightly coloured safety surfacing was installed under the swings, roundabout and see-saw. Local children creatively painted the bare walls in 2023 in conjunction with the youth groups and a local graffiti artist.
